  • 'Never Forget'
I was a senior in college, and this is what I remember: I closed my eyes after an early morning run and breakfast. Commotion in the dorm hallway woke me up -- someone sent a freshman to kick on everyone's doors. I looked out my room, and everyone's doors were wide open, the students standing and staring at their televisions. I'm not sure how to describe that dizzying stomach churn that hit at the realization of the enormity of what we were seeing, but I'll never forget that feeling. For me, it was a walk straight to the campus newspaper office, knowing that the truest test for our young student writers was upon us.

    What do you remember?
This blog is about our personal stories, too. Leave a comment sharing your story, and I will share a sample of them.

    UPDATE:
Thank you for all of the remembrances submitted to this blog. What you see here is only a fraction of what I received. I'm closing this live blog with one reader's suggestion: "Those of us who were alive at the time should write down or otherwise capture what happened that day. Passing it down to the next generation ensures that we will 'never forget.'"
